Re: Human team starting positions

....|..LOL..|.... ....|.......|.... .BL.|.BL.LB.|.LB. This is a defensive setup that I use for most of the teams I play. I prefer it to the defenses mentioned, because it requires the opponent to allocate more players in order to get a two-D block, which in turn means that less players have the oppo...

Re: Whats the thing with Piling On?

So without considering Jump Up (Dwarfes dont jump :o)
He's saying take "Jump Up" on doubles. It's actually not a bad idea with Dwarves, because they're so slow. Using Piling On makes them even slower. But with Jump Up, you can make up the ground you lose.

Re: Necromantic Tactics, Strategies and Builds

On Necro development: Zombies: Two skills are useful on a zombie. Block and DP. Unless a double (GUARD) or strength comes along. Personally, I would never take Block on a Zombie. I always go with Wrestle. The point of your Zombies is to tie up with the opponent's most valuable players, and hopefull...

Re: Necromantic Tactics, Strategies and Builds

I just wanted to add something here about getting a doubles roll with Zombies. I know the more common choice is probably Guard, but I really like Side Step. I use Wrestle with my Zombies instead of Block, so they're going to be on the ground a lot and won't always be able to use Guard. Side Step can...

Re: Lizardman Tactics, Strategies and Builds

You sound awfully defensive for an "experienced" coach.

Re: Lizardman Tactics, Strategies and Builds

As a Lizard coach I can tell you that their worst matchup by far is Elves. Any kind of Elves. All those skills you listed are fine and dandy, but the two that apply to Elves are Break Tackle and Tackle - neither of which you mentioned. I think you must have missed the part where I mentioned that ea...

Re: Lizardman Tactics, Strategies and Builds

If it was simply a case of their good luck or your bad luck, then why even post the strategy? I could talk about my ball-handling Troll and win a bunch of games by never failing Stupid rolls or anything else, but that wouldn't count for anything any more than taking five Sauri out of the play by ma...

Re: Lizardman Tactics, Strategies and Builds

His rank didn't prove the effectiveness of the strategy. The fact that he waltzed into my endzone three times and completely shut down my offense, however, did. Or it proved that he was exceptionally lucky on his dice rolls or that your defensive skills are rubbish. Which is where the rank reaffirm...

Re: Lizardman Tactics, Strategies and Builds

Playing like that is a recipe for disaster. "Caging" with Lizards means you have 2 players with ST4 (and 4 with ST2 - who evidently have zero skills and Loner) to engage the defense. Sauri built for ball-handling are generally ineffective on defense. The offense as a whole moves more slowly and a b...

Re: Lizardman Tactics, Strategies and Builds

I haven't played Lizardmen myself. They'll be the next team I try out, but I saw a coach use them in a way that blew my mind a couple of weeks back. On offense, he would cage the ball with his Krox/Sauruses, and then he would field the ball with a Saurus, using RR's if necessary. Once the ball was i...
