Had a wizard and got a Blitz! on the kickoff. There was no extra time after I finished my bonus-turn where I could have used my wizard. I later used it on my first regular turn, so I did not see wheather the 'regular' pop-up/use-the-wizard time where there, or what it looked like for that matter.
I know it's a boring point, but I'm pretty sure that there's bloodbowl balls without the spikes. At least in the box. So you can just put on the armor and use a regular NFL or rugby ball.
