Re: Dwarf Formations

NEVER apologize to a Dorf coach for injuring his players. It is a sign from Nuffle that they need to stop playing the cheesiest and safest team in the game.

Re: Norse Tactics, Strategies and Builds

I would never start a Norse team without at least one Runner. That MA7 can make all the difference in the world.

Re: Norse Tactics, Strategies and Builds

Runners make better ball handlers than Throwers due to their extra MA and the normal A access for Dodge and Side Step.

Re: Nurgle Tactics, Strategies and Builds

Rotters can be very useful with a couple of skills on them. For example, one with Fend for keeping Frenzy players at bay can be very handy in the right matchups.

Re: Dwarf Formations

Actually Dorf does pretty poorly against high-AG teams. Simply put, everyone on the pitch is ST3, and spreading out negates the advantages of Guard. Then Dorf's poor speed and AG comes back to bite them. Once Elves get Wrestle on linemen, Dorf is afraid to throw those 1D blocks; "Both Down" turns in...

Re: Skaven Tactics, Strategies and Builds

Throwers are more TV-efficient by 20k if you give them Leader and cut out a TRR. Plus there's the TV bump of having Sure Hands on a player to begin with rather than having to give it to a Gutter Runner. The fewer coaches that take players who start with Sure Hands (or give it to a player later on in...

Re: Norse Tactics, Strategies and Builds

I disagree with the notion of giving Guard to anyone but Linemen and the Yeti. Norse isn't going to win a Guard battle against anyone else in the game. Everyone who has normal S access also has Frenzy, making positioning tricky at best and impossible at worst. I would have given that runner Diving T...

Re: Dwarf Formations

I wouldn't say they are the best either. Probably Undead/Orcs are ahead of them in the learning scale but they do teach you the importance of good positioning, the value of Guard and the basic idea of cgaing and advancing. Dorf doesn't teach you about good positioning if it teaches you about the im...

Re: Dwarf Formations

Stack the line, throw lots of blocks, repeat. That's how Dorf wins. Also I disagree with the notion that Dorf is the best team to start with, as playing Dorf will make you develop some bad habits (like relying on the "safety" of 1D blocks, and not taking care of your players since they all have AV9 ...
