Rules of the coming round:
The qualified players will be divided into 4 groups of 32 players. The winners of each group will be qualified for the final matches.

Each group will be played as a classic knock out Tournament. All races and all fouls are allowed on the field.
Players will have two weeks (fourteen days) to arrange and play the match with their opponent. If the match is not played then its result will be randomly determined.

Once the four winners will be determined, they will have to choose a new roster for the final matches but this roster must be with the same race than the team they used during the group phase. They will have 1.300.000 gold pieces to spend to create this roster and send it to the admin. The semi-final and the final will be played with the exact same roster. No injury, no gain.

The name and passwords of the 4 tournaments will be communicated to the qualified players at the beginning of next week with the address book.

Further precisions will come if needed

you are sure about this? Wardancer with +2MV, sprint, sure feet, +1AG is fair (one time scorer)? Same with scavens, HE, lizards, even necro (wirewolf) and think some others? Finals should be a tactic game, no "all depends on events ( like blitz) or double "1" "

undeads with ghoul - +2ST, block, sure hands, +1AG. And many others "strange" players, almost every team can do smth like that - it has nothing in commun with "real" BB.

What more - my team will have only 8 players? - what then?

Good idea with 1300 000 gp,(same like 1100, 1350, 1500), but give us SOME RULES, for example:

- min. 11 players
- no stat increase (MV, AG, ST, AV)
- only 3 "doubles" in a team (or 1,2,4....)
- max lev 3 players.

Hey Vince, thanks for getting this under way. I'm looking forward to that email on Monday. :D

Just checking, but this means that a player could just go AFK and still have a solid chance of advancing? Is there any check to ensure that players are actually trying to play their matches?

First of all, nice to finally get some information. Now on to the business...
They will have 1.300.000 gold pieces to spend to create this roster and send it to the admin.
Can you clarify what you mean? Is this just buying players and no skills? If skills, what are the limits on # of skills per player? # doubles/stats?

Remember that that bit won't be for a few months - getting the tourneys done to get down to the finals is the important bit for the moment.

I imagine it'd be standard no stats, no doubles rules though.

FOL will be running two of these tournaments. Unless Focus tell me otherwise I'll be posting threads to arrange games on and the following will apply:
  • Both Coaches arrange a Match and play -> all fine
  • Coach A posts at Forum but does not get a reply from Coach B -> Coach A gets a win
  • Both Coaches can not agree on a Match Time -> We'll see who is most available/makes most effort and that player goes through.
  • Neither Coach Posts and no Match is played -> both Coaches out, one will get a win but his next round opponent gets a free ride ...
  • Coaches must attempt to make contact and notify of that fact on this forum by Sunday at 1900GMT. Failure to do so will count as not making contact.
The "Sunday" may change depending on the matchweek days, but expect it to be the middle day of the matchweek.

good to hear :)

but i have a small question :

why not choose the groups randomly ? Because without that, people who are qualify from the same league will play with each other... it could be more fun to mix everybody

and +1 for the rules for the finals. But we have time and only 4 of us will need to know about that ^^

It seems I misread that. I thought that money was for both group and finals parts. So the group phase is a rookie team? And it advances as normal (injuries and spp)?
