Double as first skill on Skaven Thrower

Postby Tumblin' Ungrim » 19 October 2011, 16:29

Well, the Headline says it all.

What to take, taking into account Mutations :?:

I think big hand might be a, not so bad option.

I would say strong arm but, Big Hand is also a viable option.

Big Hand, Strong Arm, or Dodge.

Good I asked, didn't had STRONG ARM on the list. That will make him better right away. The idea behind BIG HAND is to give him NOS as soon as possible and enable him to pick up the ball in bad positions and pass him away... just writing this I have to consider how bad this is, as NOS is also good for pick-ups, right?

I'll give it another thought. Strong Arm seems to be the best skill so far.

Yes NOS is good for pick-ups as well, good thing about big hand is weather does not effect pick ups but NOS is better than big hand imo

Not a skaven player and I hate stupid rats but isn't big hands better on a gutter runner anyway? This does not seem like the best guy to be running through traffic picking up balls.

I think NOS is not. At least how I read it :?:

@allie
Idea is to get NOS later and make him take out the balls out of bad positions when normally they are pretty safe placed for the opponent.

NOS does nothing for pickups:
Nerves of Steel (Passing)
The player ignores modifiers for enemy tackle zones when he attempts
to pass, catch or intercept.
Big Hand is great on GRs, and a player with that is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the blitz which frees the ball and the GRs extra MA allows you to get it away and sometimes pass it to another player who can get it even further. On the thrower I'd be tempted by Strong Arm, but I wonder how often you actually will have the thrower pass the ball. Otherwise I'd consider Guard so he can have markers blitzed free with an assist.
