UKBBL

Our Front Page Blurb

We're a league based in the United Kingdom for the PC version of 'Blood Bowl' by Cyanide Studios, based on the classic Games Workshop tabletop game. Since October 2010 we’ve been playing the
'Legendary Edition'.

We’ve run a league ever since the game was first released, and are currently playing Season 11. We already have a strong user base and it's growing all the time so head on over to the forums and get involved.

The UKBBL also shares a Ventrilo server with those upstanding gentlemen at the OCC. This makes it easier to arrange matches outside of the league and to jeer down the microphone when you beat your opponent into a pulp!

Blood Bowl is an ultra violent team sport, based on the Warhammer fantasy world. Build up your team with Orcs, Elves, Dwarfs and many other fantasy creatures before jumping into the bloodiest arenas!

Blood Bowl was originally created by Jervis Johnson and Games Workshop in 1987. The board game, a parody of the Warhammer world and American Football, met with success in the 80s and the 90s. The world’s largest Tabletop Wargames company continues to sell the game's miniatures today. Also, its creator never stopped improving and enriching Blood Bowl’s game system and universe with several rule changes.

The game is a combination of a tactical game and a sports game. The basics are extremely simple: two teams, one ball. The team that carries the ball into the opponent's end zone scores a touchdown, the team with the most touchdowns at the end of the game is the winner.

There are many races to accommodate every player’s preferences and even more strategies to be experimented with. Winning a game requires a strong game-sense and a lot of self-control. Luck also plays a part, but not so great a part that a talented coach can’t struggle against the dice and still come out on top.

For the player's enjoyment, omnipresent humour and the use of spells, weapons, and other non-regulatory means place Blood Bowl outside of the classic sport simulation genre. We look forward to seeing you on the pitch!

Gruff mumblings and manly backslaps,

Your Co-Commissioners gcoleman76, Thyrus & Shaeffer (technically sharfder is the tea boy)

Currently the UKBBL is playing it's 26th and final season of Chaos Edition Blood Bowl.

Season 27 is when we move our full league over to Blood Bowl 2.

We have 2 Conferences with 60+ coaches in each conference spread across 4-5 tiers with divisions of 12. Each season is three months long. At the end of which the top 4 teams in the UKBBL compete for the overall Championship Title.

We will also be continuing to support our BBCE 'masters league' and additional side competitions run by the community.

Twice yearly we arrange tabletop tournaments so we can meet our nemeses' face to face for some classic blood bowl.

So hopefully this peaks some interest in your bones and you drop by to www.ukbbl.co.uk and we will see you on the pitch soon.
