Bug: Permanent Passing Penalty

Postby Moerp » 08 June 2016, 21:08

I just finished a Match with my Youtube Norse Team the "Community Chippendales" and was recording this for my YT Channel (i only tell this because i can prove that it happend).

I had 2 Moments in the game where i really wanted to pass the ball but noticed that my Dex 3 Players (Norse) had a permanent penalty on their chances to throw a pass. Even right next to an other player i had only a chance of 50% for an successful pass what totally surprised me.

If you need to see it by yourself you should watch the replay ot my video i will launch on friday this week.

This bug is really anyoing and fucked up my last chances to turn the game. If my opponent had this bug i can not say. He never tried to play a pass all over the match.

Assume you have read the rules?

Approximately up to 3 squares with Agility 3 is 3+, 4-6 squares is 4+, 7-9 is 5+ and 10-12 is 6+, assuming a straight line.

It was one Square only and i had a 50% (3+) Roll... Yes i have read the rules i do Guides on Blood Bowl with the german "DBBC" The "Deutsch Blood Bowl Community".

The only problem can be that my english is not good enough to eplain the problem in the first place.

Weather? Very Sunny gives a -1 modifier.

PS - 3+ is not 50%. 4+ is.

That would be my guess. The visual feedback of very sunny isn't all that obvious, I've had games where I missed it too.

Hm ok that could be. But i did not pay attention to the weather. The Icon for Sunny weather is kind of unspectacular that i often miss it (not only me). There should be a better sign or message that points out whats about the weather.

Well, (as my viewers pointed out to me when I made the same grumpy remark) there is a message when the weather is (re)rolled, then there's the icon at the top, and then there's the indicator for the %chance of the pass.

Yes, very sunny is hard to notice. The weather icon should be more obvious...

It does give an additional yellow-orange tint to the screen as well

The yellow orange tint is only for Sweltering Heat. Very Sunny is visually represented by a slight bump in contrast for the screen, which not everybody is sensitive to visually. If you start the match in Very Sunny you also won't get a notification for it. And the only difference between it's icon and the normal weather icon, is the normal weather icon is a sun with a small cloud in front of it, and Very Sunny is just the sun by itself, and if you're not super familiar with the icons, a glance at that could just make you think that it means normal weather, since that icon is usually used to represent "clear" or "normal" weather in real life. Not to mention that the effect of Very Sunny is just -1 to passing, and passing isn't usually a heavily relied upon or common tactic for most teams in blood bowl, so you may only notice it (if you notice it at all) when it's too late. It could probably be better represented visually in a number of ways, if not all of the ways.
